A person died in a Jefferson County house fire early Saturday.
Firefighters with West Metro Fire Rescue responded to the call on Vivian Street near 14th Avenue in Jefferson County shortly after midnight. Three people were inside the home when it caught fire. Two escaped, but the third, who was asleep upstairs when the blaze started, did not.

Firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames when they arrived. Two were injured during the rescue operation. They were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and have since been released, according to a West Metro Fire Rescue spokesperson.

The name, age and gender of the deceased will be released at a later time by the Jefferson County coroner. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
